Celebrating 5 Years

United Way of Thunder Bay is bringing back our tastiest event of the fall, and this year it’s going to be bigger, bolder, and better!

Novemburger brings new and returning customers to local eateries, all while raising funds for local needs, right here in our community!

The Process

Here’s How It Works

STEP 1:

Restaurants show their #LocalLove by becoming a participant.

STEP 2:

They create a signature “Novemburger” and sell it throughout the month.

STEP 3:

This is the tastiest part! Community members and workplaces try as many Novemburgers as they can throughout the month.

STEP 4:

$2 per Novemburger sold is donated back to the United Way of Thunder Bay.

Participating restaurants compete for the title of:

  1.  Top Novemburger of the Year 
  2. Most Novemburgers Sold
  3. People’s Choice Novemburger (top 3)

The Wake and Steak: a steak-seasoned Angus beef burger with provolone, bacon jam, garlic aioli, a fried egg, crispy onions, crushed tater totz and BBQ sauce on a soft Roma Bakery bun

Red Lion Smokehouse

Two smoked cheddar-stuffed burger patties topped with American cheese, maple bacon, onions, lettuce, tomato, BBQ sauce, miso mustard, and aioli on a brioche bun.

Dawson General Store

The Smokeshow: two ground beef and ground house-smoked bacon Smashburger patties, house-smoked BBQ pulled pork, smoked gouda cheese, secret burger sauce with a grainy Dijon twist, sweet onions and dill pickles.

Anchor & Ore

Superior Burger: fresh burger patty, Thunder Oak gouda cheese, bacon jam, caramelized onions, burger sauce, and red cabbage coleslaw on a sesame bun, topped with a deep fried mushroom. Served with fries.

The Outpost

Charred Shrimp and Chorizo Burger: 2 beef chorizo patties, marinated and charred shrimp, honey lime-dressed lettuce, red onion, corn tortilla strips, and chipotle aioli on a toasted brioche bun.

The Industry Social House

4 oz. wagyu patty (option to add second patty), topped with fresh spring mix, roasted red peppers, spicy calabrese, sautéed onions, jalapeño Havarti, and house-made garlic citrus aioli on a fresh Kaiser bun.

Daytona’s

Jameson BBQ Burger: beef patty from Maltese, Jameson BBQ sauce, shredded lettuce, aged white cheddar, maple bacon, onion rings, house-made pickles, and garlic mayo.

Station 22

Station Burger: Maltese patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, Station Sauce, and American cheese on a Kaiser bun from Agostino’s Deli.

Beefcake’s Burger Factory

Smoke & Fire Burger: 4 oz. beef patty, smoked beef brisket, bacon, house-made dill pickles, brie, lettuce, jalapeño cheddar-dusted fried onions, banana peppers, baconnaise, and ketchup on a roasted garlic Kaiser bun.

The Getaway – Gateway Casino

Ultimate Bacon Deluxe Mushroom Swiss: locally made 6 oz. beef patty topped with bacon, cheddar and Swiss cheese, onions rings and sautéed mushroom with a BBQ mayo sauce, served on a rye bun.

Galaxy Lounge

Galaxy Homemade Crispy Chicken Burger: sautéed onions, grilled pineapple, shredded lettuce, sweet & spicy mayo, topped with a deep fried pickle. Served with fries.

Hodder Greeks

Poutine Coney Burger Nip: Maltese beef patty, topped with Coney sauce, crisp onions, mustard, house cut B&B fries, and cheese curds on a fresh Bennett’s Bakery & Deli bun, smothered in hot signature Greeks gravy.

Mushroom Melt Vegan Burger: Beyond Meat patty, mushrooms, vegan cheese, and smoked tomato jam on a burger bun from The Bakeshop on Boundary.

The Big Dill Burger: grain patty with garlic dill aioli, Dill Pickle Serrano Heartbeat Hot Sauce, lettuce, pickles, Thunder Oak Gouda, and crispy fried pickle chips. Can be made vegan.

Shrimp ‘N Parmesan Burger: 100% pure Canadian beef patty, Cajun shrimp, lettuce, onion, tomato, and house-made garlic parmesan sauce on a gourmet bun. Served with fries.

CJ’s Chicken Wing Burger: Smash burger and a chicken thigh tossed in your choice of wing sauce, bacon, pickled slaw, blue cheese crumble, lettuce, and ranch on a brioche bun, topped with a chicken wing.

Mexi Burger Nip. Cornbread bun with a 6 oz beef patty, topped with Oaxaca cheese, sauteed mushrooms & peppers, and birria beef gravy

Portside Restaurant & Bar

8 oz. Smashburger patty with lettuce, tomato, bacon, coleslaw, caramelized Bermuda onion, Chef’s Sriracha, fried egg, jalapeño, and Jack cheese on a brioche bun.

Madhouse

The Reuben: 4 oz. locally produced beef patty, corned beef, fried sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, grainy mustard, dill pickles, and house-made Thousand Island dressing on a brioche bun, with a dill pickle topper.

6 oz. locally sourced patty from Murillo with Cajun seasoning, ketchup, mayo, onions, pickles, jalapeños, Swiss and cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato on a Bennett’s Bakery & Deli bun.

The Foundry

Cuban Hamburger: freshly-ground all beef patty, grilled ham, Banana peppers, pickles, mustard, Swiss cheese, and Honey Heartbeat Aioli on a freshly made bun, grilled Panini-style.

Skal Restaurant & Lounge

Surtr Burger: charbroiled beef & sausage patties, cheddar and provolone cheeses, sweet & spicy pepper mayo, crispy onions, Finnish mustard, and pickle on a brioche bun. Served with fries or salad.

Java Hut

Taco Burger: 6 oz. homemade patty with taco seasoning and tortilla chips mixed in, topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, salsa, and sour cream.
